Built in 2000, Washington Community School (WCS) is a champion for student success. Our motto, Teamwork Makes a Dream Work manifests itself through our vision statement commitment to improve practice through collaboration, peer support, professional development and TEAMWORK.

One of our district goals is to improve school climate and culture. You can help us by completing the WCS Parent Survey using the Virtual Backpack Tab.

Washington Community School (WCS) is a Pre-K through 5th grade school, with an ethnically diverse student enrollment of over 600 students. The school boasts an equally diverse faculty. Washington employs 47 full time teachers, 18  full or part time teacher assistants, as well as 2 full time and 2 part time Response to Intervention (RTI) specialists. In addition, 2 social workers are charged with supporting the social and emotional development of our students in both mainstreamed and self contained settings.

Washington hosts 157 General Education, 426 English Language Learners(+23 ESL only) along with 100 students with identified needs. Class sizes typically range from 17-27 students. Our Response to Intervention Model utilizes DIBELS as a universal screener to identify students in need of academic support. Our RTI approach works in-conjunction with our blended learning model to differentiate each child's learning experience.
